Relation: Build relationships and collaborate with various businesses and industries to create new value,
Initiative: take action to build a sustainable society instead of being a bystander,
Devote: devote our wisdom not only to the pursuit of short-term profits but also to the future of society,
Energy: and act with perseverance and energy
It is an initiative to make products using environmentally friendly manufacturing methods.
Eliminating the electroplating, polishing, color filling, and paint baking processes significantly reduces water and power consumption.
According to a survey by the Ministry of the Environment, more than 40% (by weight) of the massive amount of plastic waste in Japan’s oceans comes from discarded fishing nets.
We are helping to solve the problem of marine pollution by turning old fishing nets into everyday products.
These products can all be recycled and used as resources in a sustainable manner. It’s a groundbreaking initiative.
We collect industrial waste paper and synthetic fibers, such as fabric scraps from apparel factories, pulverize it all, and after mixing with virgin pulp, turn it into paper.
We think outside the box to develop innovative paper products and new kinds of paper, including all sorts of paper textures and characteristics as well as variations in the finished products by changing the mixing ratio.
> ASUKAMI® recycled paper
In connection with the Morito Group’s efforts to develop products using recycled fishing nets, our employees regularly work alongside local residents to clean up the beach in Kami, Hyogo Prefecture.
We also bounced around ideas with the Tokyo Verdy women’s hockey team, Morito’s corporate partner, to develop merchandise using environmentally friendly materials and host an event (Parts Day) inviting elementary school students.
We worked with Kobe Women’s University students to plan and hold an event for crafting mobiles out of ASUKAMI® at the Suma Aqualife Park Kobe in Hyogo Prefecture.
These activities provide opportunities for not only our business partners but also local residents to think about environmental issues while having fun.
